At the studio, we have two dogs available to students, parents, and siblings. We utilize animals in learning, not only to motivate and have creative opportunities, but also to assist in uplifting and providing a calming outlet for students during lessons. Over the 15 years of teaching, it has become evident that having animals in lessons enhances the time together learning.
Adoptable kittens and Cats are often at the Music Studio too!
What started as having a few bottle-fed kittens needing care has developed into a core part of the studio. When there are kittens that need extra care on their way to their forever homes, they are often found at the studio being incorporated in lessons as well. Games like note naming, with treats placed on the keys, and other educational aspects are used to enjoy the fostered animal along with fostering education. We celebrate students learning how to interact with animals big and small, as well as those in the waiting areas enjoying the opportunity. We are so glad to have a space that allows both!
Students who are seniors at local high schools who have been a part of the studio for a significant time have the opportunity to learn how to teach music. Under the guidance of myself and others these student teachers assist with beginner piano students in lessons as they explore and learn the basics of piano!
Students have the chance to showcase their talents in recitals and concerts throughout the year. Maharg Music Academy is more than just a place to learn music; it's a community where students can connect with others who share their passion.
